Crimestoppers: Police investigating two robberies – Narrabundah & Watson on 3 June 2009

Crimestoppers logoACT Policing is investigating two robberies which occurred June 3, which may be linked.

Just after 2.30pm a man carrying a knife entered a Doctors surgery on Anembo Street in Narrabundah and demanded money, making off with a sum of cash a short time later.

The man was observed leaving the scene in a white 1994 Nissan Navara utility, bearing ACT registration YDQ176. This vehicle was stolen from Macquarie yesterday.

The man was described as being in his late 40’s, unshaven and wearing a suede coat, a beanie and glasses.

Police also responded to a report of a robbery in Watson about 4.00pm after a man entered a beauty salon and threatened staff with a knife, before leaving with an amount of cash. He was seen leaving the area in a Nissan Navara utility matching the description of the vehicle used during the earlier Narrabundah robbery.

Police are currently searching these areas for the vehicle and offender and are requesting the community’s assistance by providing any information or sightings of this vehicle directly to police on 131 444.

General Duties officers and members of the Territory Investigations Group are investigating the two incidents and AFP Forensic Services will conduct examinations of both scenes.
