Corroboree Park management plan – Public Meeting (17 May 2010)

The ACT Government is hosting a public meeting with Ainslie residents to update them on the park management plan being developed for Corroboree Park. The park management plan, which is expected to be completed next month, and recognises the historic values of the park will outline the measures needed to maintain a healthy treed landscape for future generations. ACTPLA Media Release: ACTPLA rolls out the first changes from review of Territory Plan

The following media release was issued by ACTPLA on 07 May 2010. The media release  and Planning and Development (Draft Variation No. 302) Consultation Notice 2010 has been reproduced below. The North Canberra Community Council is concerned that Draft Variation 302 may have a detrimental impact and serious ramifications for ‘disused’ old school grounds and the council encourages the community to analyse the impact of the Draft Variation and provide appropriate comment by the cut off date of Tuesday 22 June 2010.

Public Information and Workshop Session: Development of Kenny (18 May 2010)

The ACT Planning and Land Authority (ACTPLA) has started planning for the new Gungahlin suburb of Kenny, where land release is scheduled to begin in 2012-13. The North Canberra Community Council believes this issue is of interest to North Canberra District residents and will directly impact our region as this new suburb will be directly opposite Watson on the other side of the Federal Highway. The NCCC waits with anticipation to discover whether ACTPLA actually intends to letterbox Watson residents to inform them of this public information session and workshop.
