ACTPLA has engaged external consultants Purdon Associates to manage the Dickson Centre Planning Project. The study will guide future urban planning in the Dickson centre. It will include consultation with the community, community groups, business representatives and other stakeholders to develop a vision for the future of centre. ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a weekend assault and robbery involving multiple offenders and victims that occurred near the Allawah Flats in Reid on Saturday night (29 August).
At approximately 12.40 pm this Sunday August 30, a 30-year-old Canberra man was reported missing after last being seen on a surf-ski on Lake Burley Griffin between Springbank Island and Black Mountain Peninsula. An extensive search utilising ACT Policing resources and ACT Ambulance Southcare is currently being conducted in the area to locate the man.
The North Canberra Community Council recently wrote to the Director of Roads ACT, Mr Tony Gill, following up from issues raised at the 19 August 2009 meeting of the Council. The correspondence highlights certain safety issues with Antill Street Watson. The North Canberra Community Council is concerned with current levels of traffic on Antill Street, and road safety on Antill Street as all previous traffic predictions have underestimated future levels of traffic using Antill Street. ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an unprovoked attack on a 20-year-old man in Civic August 28, 2009. About 2.40am, police conducting foot patrols on East Row, Civic observed three males attack the male victim while he was seated on the roadside curb. The alleged offenders are unknown to the victim.
