ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery of a business on Alinga Street, City June 4. About 4.50pm a male offender entered the Cash Stop Financial Services store and pushed a bag under a barrier before threatening a female staff member with what she believed to be a firearm and demanded money.
In November 2008, the Federal Transport Minister Anthony Albanese rejected Canberra International Airport’s draft master plan on the grounds that it did not provide enough detail on the proposal to develop the airport into a freight hub and the airport’s community consultation had been insufficient. The ABC Canberra TV news provided the following report on the impact road construction and upgrades around the airport and entrance to the suburb of Pialligo is creating for residents and local businesses. Roads ACT have indicated that road-works should be complete by the end of July, but in the interim temporary traffic lights are being considered. The Joint Champions Group, established in 2005, provides tenants with an opportunity to take part in and manage activities that contribute to the planning and delivery of housing services in the ACT.
