The Chief Minister has proposed that a park opened on 25 May 2009 on Childers Street in Acton be known as the Latin American Plaza and dedicated to the celebration of multiculturalism. The ACT Government has decided, as a precautionary measure, to exclude from school for seven days, any student who has returned to Canberra after travel to Mexico, USA, Canada, Japan or Panama. During these seven days, the student should stay home whether or not they have flu symptoms. ACT Policing is investigating an incident on the school grounds of Lyneham High School overnight. Two sheep which were part of the school’s agricultural program were attacked between midnight and 8am (May 22) before they were found by staff at the school.
